Bad to the Bone

I am a good person, and I know that I'm a good person. That's how I was raised, to be selfless. Others first and then me, if I have it and you need it, it's automatically yours bottom line. But what's the point of being a good person if it only seems as if you always only get the short end of the stick? Why am I so tempted to do wrong, why does it look so easy? What if I don't want to lose to win?

Time after time life seems to tear away at your essence. Who you are, your being, seems to wear away when certain individuals consistently seem to reappear in your life. You are strong, you are invincible, and you know it. With God on your side nothing is impossible and you know that too. Yet, every now and then you feel as if there is no more air left to breathe. Your chest is tight, your hair is falling out, you're stressing over this, losing it over that, and it seems as if nothing is falling in place. But why? You give your all until there is nothing left, and you pray until you can't think of anything else to say. You cry until your eyes turn red and your head hurts, all because the paradigm of life seems to sway in the favor of everyone else, but you. You can't go a day without thinking about the person who did you wrong and how maybe if you weren't so caring and maybe if you didn't love so hard you wouldn't be this hurt and you wouldn't feel so down. You're still questioning who it is that God made you to be and the possibility that God did in fact make a mistake. However, I rebuke that in the name of Jesus, and I speak life to your situation, and the atmosphere in which you feel alone, because you're never alone, God is with you.

Romans 8:37 states, "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." You must go through to get to the place that God has for you. To whom much is given much is required. Eternal life is worth every trial and every tribulation for it is nothing compared to the ultimate sacrifice of Christ dying on the cross for our sin. When you are kind and others refute that kindness, put it in God's hands and understand that he will take care of you, and protect you. You are more than a few bad days, and you are more than your trials and tribulations. You know your name, and you know who it is that God has created you to be, therefore you must understand that you can't change who it is that God has made you to be, for God's will is non-negotiable. You are a beautiful person inside and out, and the sooner you embrace that the easier life will be. Scripture does not tell us that Salvation is a walk in the park, neither does it tell us that it would be without consequence or persecution, but 1 Peter5:10, "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you," which reaffirms the fact that it will be worth it. God will always give you what you need, and provide for you even after you feel as if there is nothing left.

Sometimes you just need to be reminded of the fact that its still good to do the right thing. Good will always prevail, good will always succeed, love will always conqueror, and the peace of our Lord will always abide in those who do the right thing.  Holiness is still right, in fact scripture tells us that,"Holiness, without which no man shall see God." Telling the truth, keeping it "100%", keeping it real is still acceptable in God's eyesight, so don't stop. Don't change at the drop of a dime, or just because people feel uncomfortable. Be you, be kind, stay caring, be passionate, love God!

Let us bow:

Heavenly Father,

We're desperate to be liked by those around us. God we do our very best to be as nice as possible and as caring as possible. But when others take advantage of us, we begin to question who it is that you've designed for us to be. So bless us Lord, work on us, that we might begin to understand that you are not a God of mistakes.  Remind us that when others habitually abuse our kindness and our Godly intentions, we should immediately turn it over to you that you might show yourself strong and mighty in our lives. Therefore, we ask God that you guide our speech and that you take complete control in every aspect of our lives both public and private. Have your way. We bless you for you are worthy of all Glory, Honor, and Praise and it is in your name (Jesus) that we pray, Amen!
