The Mirror Man

You're beautiful, and you know that you know, that I know, that you are beautiful. You're not boastful, obnoxious, or conceited about it, you're just beautiful. God has moved you to a place where you are finally content with who he has sculpted you to be physically, and you are well on your way as a fresh young adult with a little insight on life. You're so beautiful that now every time that you walk past the mirror or anything that shows forth your reflection (tinted windows, other people's sunglasses, phone front cameras, store mirrors, etc.) you feel obligated to stop and make sure that your presentation is as perfect as it was when you first left home, but hey you can do that because you're beautiful. Every aspect of your beauty is breath taking, from your artistic creativity to your execution of risk. You make everything, even "the struggle" look good, but inside there's a disconnect.

Deep down inside you feel like no one understands you, and that no one really loves you unless they need something from you. You find yourself pouring more and more into others to the point where there is almost nothing left, and your spirit thirst for a spiritual refresh. You don't know who to talk to, the people around you hold you in great regard and you're afraid that if you expose what's going inside that they may think less of you. You're skating on thin ice and you know it, but the pride of life has made your inconsistencies comfortable. It's time to look past the physical you, to see the spiritual you, that it might reflect the same beauty on the inside.

Some of us feel empty, we've faced so much hurt all throughout life that our only option was to turn to God. We turned over the superficial issues, the ones that are pretty common and easy to admit in bible study and prayer meeting, but we bottled up things that we thought would shed a bad light on who we are. The stuff that people could come back and hold over our heads, if in fact God were to ever see us to a place of increase (hypothetically-spiritually of course).

For others of us, the problems at home and on the job have begun to stealthily and swiftly find their way into our execution of our call, which has effected our passion, and our drive while doing the work of The Lord.

Some of us are strictly going through the motions. As if we're in autopilot, we sing when needed, preach when needed, pray when needed, but often wonder if God hears us at all.

And for the rest of us, we have so much going on inside that we can't just point out one issue inside.

People say that, time heals all wounds, but I know that Jesus himself is a wound healer for it is he who has the ability to refresh our hearts and spirit instantaneously, if we whole heartedly allow him too.

If the facts were to be exposed, the truth is that you don't always want to forgive those who hurt you. A part of you wants them to suffer the embarrassment that they have inflicted upon you. A part of you wants to see them hurt as you've hurt, cry as you've cried, feel as you felt, and that is what makes the difference. You're human, and I don't blame your spirit, I blame your flesh as with all of us. That's why Paul said,"protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. "(1 Corinthians 15:31); because he knew that the flesh will try to sway the spirit to work against your spiritual growth and development. This initiative of the flesh equates to keeping you bound by the thoughts of negativity, hatred, and anger. So I challenge you to speak life over your entire situation. Make your flesh fall subject to your spirit. You've got to begin to command the atmosphere around you, that it facilitate nothing, but the Spirit of the Living God.
Paul also says, "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty," (2 Corinthians 3:17). In order to be freed you've got to refresh your spirit and mind through prayer and supplication. This is a daily battle, a daily fight for you, and you have the ability to rise above it. This is not a fight in which you put on gloves, step into the ring, and expect to slay those who hurt you. No, this is the type of battle where you stretch through the word of God, and you exercise your faith. Scripture tells us, "Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you,"(Deuteronomy 3:22).

You've got to go back to your roots where Jesus said, "Love others as I (Jesus) have loved you  (John 13:34). Work everyday to do that literally, remember that at some point you did love them, and right now whether you believe it or not you still love them, and believe it or not you're suppose to, but it's up to you to redirect that love and focus it. Prayer and supplication and studying the word of God will help, but remember,"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone (James 2:17). You're too beautiful, bold, and brilliant to not conquer this.

Let us Bow:

Lord Jesus,
Here we are empty vessels ready to be filled again with your love, joy, peace, with a renewed spirit and a righteous mind. God we Love you Lord, and we honor you Lord for we recognize that without you we have nothing, and with you we have everything that we will ever need. Lord as our spirit is willing, but our flesh is weak God we ask that you help us to be diligent in our pursuit of your Glory. We humble ourselves, and set our pride aside, that you might make us whole again. Lord you know all of our issues by name, you know our pain and so God I ask on behalf my sisters and brothers reading this God who don't know what to do, who don't know what to say, who can't recall the last time they heard your voice God, I ask that you be a fence around them, protect them, give them the strength and deliverance that they stand in need of, and that you have your way like only you can. We turn it all over to you God, and we leave our burdens and receive your wisdom that we find ourselves in alignment with your instructions which is the word of God. We thank you in advance God for healing all wounds, we thank you in advance God for making ways out of what seemed like no way, we thank you in advance God for the testimony derived from this test, and we will continue to give you all the praise, all Glory, and honor in the mighty name of Jesus the Christ we pray, Amen!

Be Encouraged, and know that although I love you, God loves you Best!
